Patricia Lasoens Landschap met roze hoed: Een Keuze Uit De Gedichten 1965-1980 is een poëziebundel die in 1987 werd uitgegeven door Manteau in Antwerpen en Amsterdam. Deze tweede editie bestaat uit 128 pagina’s en heeft een formaat van 13 cm bij 21,5 cm. Het boek verkeert in uitstekende staat en heeft een zachte kaft met perfecte binding.
De titel van deze verzamelbundel typeert op fraaie wijze Lasoens dichterschap dat magisch-realistische elementen bevat. Landerige melancholie, roze dames à la Couperus, wonderlijke droomtoestanden worden afgewisseld met realistische observaties van huwelijk, ouderdom en eenzaamheid. Herfst en verval staan centraal. Bijzonder is haar taalgebruik: pathos contrasteert op knappe wijze met onderkoelde beschrijvingen. Sterk ironiserend werken titels (“Verhalen van de gastvrouw”, “Handleiding voor (aan)staande moeders”) en typeringen van mensen. De fantasie, waarmee Lasoen situaties bedenkt en de originele beelden die ze gebruikt, maken de bundel spannend en onderhoudend voor literair enigszins gevormde lezeressen/lezers. The title of this anthology aptly characterizes Lasoen’s poetry, which contains elements of magical realism. Languid melancholy, pink ladies à la Couperus, and wondrous dream states alternate with realistic observations of marriage, old age, and loneliness. Themes of autumn and decay are central. Her language use is notable: pathos contrasts skillfully with subdued descriptions. The titles (“Stories of the Hostess”, “Manual for (Expectant) Mothers”) and characterizations of people are strongly ironic. The fantasy with which Lasoen invents situations and the original images she uses make the collection exciting and entertaining for somewhat literate readers.
