Armando’s “Tucht: Gedichten 1971-1978” is een poëziebundel die in 1980 werd uitgegeven door De Bezige Bij in Amsterdam en gedrukt door Tulp in Zwolle. Deze eerste editie bestaat uit 89 pagina’s en heeft een formaat van 12,5 cm bij 20 cm. Het boek verkeert in uitstekende staat en heeft een zachte kaft met perfecte binding.
De bundel “Tucht” is een opmerkelijke verzameling van negentig, merendeels zeer korte notities die aanvankelijk doen denken aan het expressionistisch woordgebruik uit de jaren twintig. De gedichten bevatten herinneringen aan het werk van Marsman en Bordewijk, vooral wat betreft sfeer. De notities variëren van slechts enkele woorden tot enkele regels, waarbij zware klankassonanties, zoals veelvuldig gebruik van “aa” en “a,” de overhand hebben. Het soldateske en militaire thema domineren sterk, met verwijzingen naar het leger, bevelen, orde en hoekige vormen als vierkant.
De aantekeningen zijn zonder titels, maar bevatten zorgvuldige interpunctie, wat erop wijst dat de dichter nauwgezet is in zijn presentatie. Deze korte aanduidingen lijken op extracten waarin de essentie van zijn emoties is vastgelegd.

The collection Tucht is a remarkable assemblage of ninety, mostly very brief notes that initially evoke the expressionist language of the 1920s. The poems contain reminiscences of Marsman and, in terms of atmosphere, also of Bordewijk. The notes vary from just a few words to a few lines, with heavy sound assonances, particularly frequent “aa” and “a” sounds, predominating. The soldierly and military themes dominate strongly, with references to the army, commands, order, and angular shapes like squares.
The annotations are untitled but contain careful punctuation, indicating the poet’s meticulous presentation. These short notations seem to be extracts capturing the essence of his emotions.
