“Notice of Political Reliability” is a satirical work by Heinrich Böll, translated into Dutch by Jan Bernard and published in 1976 by Elsevier. This book, which is part of Böll’s extensive body of socially critical literature, offers a sharp and ironic look at bureaucratic processes and the way political reliability is assessed and monitored in totalitarian regimes.
In this novella, Böll focuses on the absurdity and inhumane aspects of political control systems, where individuals are subjected to strict and often arbitrary standards of political conformity.
