Dutch language edition, edited by Willem Kloos, containing Perk’s Mathilde-Cyclus and other poems by a famous nineteenth century dutch poet by the name of Jacques Perk, the containing, besides some other poems, the so-called Mathilde-cyclus (‘Mathilde. Een Sonnettenkrans in vier Boeken’). Perk was inspired during his short, 5 days, love for a girl by the name of Mathilde Thomas, whom he met and fell in love with during a 5-day stay in the Ardennes, Belgium. The cyclys has been re-written at least two times, rather shortly before Perk’s untimely death at the age of twenty-two.
